Once K-1 Box Champion André Mannaert came watching one of my performances and closed me in his arms I feel quite relieved. That a sports champion recognises my talent like I'm a sportsman myself. Here's a short history of his school. History Mejiro Gym - How it all began
On his visit to Japan in 1975, Jan Plas, founder of Mejiro Gym Amsterdam, met with sensei Kurosaki at his dojo in Tokyo. The dojo of Kurosaki was situated in the "Mejiro" district so this is where the name originated from. Jan Plas, impressed by the level of skill at Mejiro Gym Tokyo, decided to stay and train with famous champions like Fujiwara and Shima.
Still impressed by all he experienced in Japan, Jan Plas, together with some other Muay-Thai pioneers, founded the N.K.B.B. (The Dutch Kickboxing Association). Boxing Gym Vermeulen provided accomodations for the newly formed Mejiro Gym Amsterdam. Among the first Mejiro Gym fighters were men like; Lucien Carbin, Johan Vos, Aris Koopman, Bert van Os, Thijs Veldman.
It was 1978 when they all moved to their own location at Lauriergracht 86 in Amsterdam. It was there that the now famous "mejiro style" was further developed and perfected. This resulted in the first of many national and international titles for Mejiro Gym. Muay Thai Kickboxing became more and more popular in Holland. The first big events were hosted at the Jaap Edenhal in Amsterdam and it was in this period that the rivalry between the Amsterdam dojo’s; Mejiro Gym, Vos Gym and Chakuriki started.
In 1982 Rob Kaman became the first world champion WKA kickboxing for Mejiro Gym. In the years after he was followed by; André Brilleman, Fred Royers and Milo el Geubli. They promoted the Mejiro Gym style worldwide, speed and strenght in combination with highly developed techniques, worldwide to stimulate a whole new generation of Mejiro Gym fighters. At the end of the 1980’s Mejiro Gym had their first champions of this new generation. Names such as Mustafa Yamali, Tom van de Berg, André Mannaart and Nina van Roeden still appeal to one’s imagination. Other famous fighters were Leo de Snoo, Iwan Grando, Paul Lamoth and Bob Schreiber.
The 90’s were also very successful for Mejiro Gym. Under the new owner and sensei André Mannaart with wins from Kaman over Hoost, Changpeuk, van de Vathorst, Verheije and the title at K1 in Paris, Mejiro Gym became one of the most famous dojos in the world. Other fighters like Mannaart, van de Berg en de Snoo also contributed to the worldwide success. With the retirement of Kaman, van de Berg and de Snoo it is up to the next generation of fighters to go on in the spirit and tradition of their predecessors. Super talents like Remy Bonjaski, Rodney Faverus, Rogier van der Heijden, Freek Ezechiëls, Lorentz Bults and Donald Brenner are ready to prove their skills in the ring. Under supervision of senseis Mannaart (worldchampion for WKA, WPKL and ISKA), Lamoth and candidate sensei van der Heijden the success story is sure to be continued.....

About lyntodd1 'Heart Disease' was the straw that broke the camel's back w/ Vanguard Records. It's a sarcastic commentary on how America treats it's elderly...So, much for that little thing they call freedom of speach, & speaking up about what you believe to be wrong w/ this country. The owners of Vanguard; Maynard & Seymour Soloman, & moron Bobby Orlando said, "We can't release a song w/ subject matter like that! What will our mothers think?" +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ In a time when it was not excepted for women to sing so aggressivly, & only sang songs about love, & heartache, Lyn Todd was amoung the very first women to have a balls to the wall voice, & band which spoke of political issues, & whatever else she wanted to sing/write about. So, take a lesson from Lyn Todd young girls; go out & rock hard, blow the roof off of the club, & never let anyone say you can't do it! Lyn Todd has been in the music buisness since the begining of time itself. She is like a very well preserved rock & roll virus that won't go away, & is here to stay! She's the one that started the infamous Hell's Angel riots @ CBGB"s. Many said she'd be dead by the time she was 21, yet she's still here dancing on those mother fucker's graves...Zig Zag magazine said, 'Lyn Todd is like a cross between Tina Turner & Tina Louise.' NOMAG said, 'Lyn Todd stold Brenda Lee's vocal chords, but not her personality. Watching Lyn perform is like an amphedemine rush." & Eric Burdon said, 'Fuck, this chick can sing...She reminds me of me!' & 'Slow down your gonna kill me!!! I'll never finish my book!!!' as she backed the baby blue '62 Caddy down Laurel Canyon Blvd. & across Sunset Blvd. @ 60 miles an hour. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 'The music buisness is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where theives and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs... There's also a negative side to it...' Hunter S. Thompson
Ralph de Jongh grew up in the south of Holland near Antwerps, Belgium. Born in Roosendaal and Nispen citizen till his twentieth in august 1995, when he moved to Amsterdam. His main influences are the Rolling Stones since he is five years old. These he learned through his father and mother. Ralph turned out to have a great love for music. When he was fifteen he bought his first guitar and started playing with Elmore James, Muddy Waters, other Chess Blues records and Rolling Stones records. So he learned the old basic blues rythm patterns and chords. He also learned the old tunings in open D and G and started to listen to Hank Williams, Gram Parsons, Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie songs. After learning the bluesharp his first succes was New Years eve in Dordrecht 1994 when he performed with Mc Anthony and the Bluesgang, a Roosendaal blues band. Short after he did a little theater tour in the south of Holland, and through that met Kaz Lux, the former sixties Brainbox singer with Jan Akkerman as his guitar player. They got together and did some gigs and Ralph got his first demo. Later on, Ralph met Harry Muskee and was asked to join him as a support act during the 2006-2007 theater tour with Cuby & the Blizzards...

And here's an old review of a record on the shelves:
Bluesmatters 30 maart 2006 'On 'Free Music,' de Jongh plays solo accoustic guitar and it is his voice and his ability to rework in original ways that the song is refreshed and made interesting again. Opening with Shout It In with its beautiful calm slide guitar, he works through Maceo Merryweather's 'Worried Life Blues', offering a totally different arrangement and rhythm. This song appears again at track 13, but in yet another guise. Crossroads is very true to the original and Dust my Broom is another treat. The only accompaniment throughout this album is his foot, providing board-tapping rhythm.....'
Welcome in te twenty thirst century..... who started counting why will we learn will we learn from the past, from the others or were there mistakes for nothing
